It is designed for bikes (like mountain bikes) and off-road motorbikes that have flat/riser handlebars. The current system is compatible with 22.2mm diameter handlebars.

For mountain bikes, we suggest 750mm - 780mm wide. For gravel/flat far road, we suggest a minimum of 710mm wide (note that minimum width is related to the space available for controls such as gears and brake levers and is limited by the width of the centre bar bulge). For motocross, we suggest you can use whatever bar width you are comfortable with. Please let us know your preferred bar width choice so we can specify the appropriate distance between the release mechanism and carrier.

The bike industry likes to evolve and change standards, but we have suggestions based on experience. In general, cockpit setup benefits from slim designed components since they have to be mounted in close proximity. For pedal cycle gears, we suggest SRAM gripshift and a compatible derailleur. Alternatively, electronic shifting options, such as Leap Components shifters are an excellent choice. Rapid fire/trigger shifters are difficult to mount due to the height and long throw that requires a lot of space. For brakes, the same slim line profile is easier to set up. The ability to flip flop (run a brake either way up) is also useful. We have found Magura MT range of brakes to offer great stopping power in a relatively low profile and flip floppable design. It is also fine to mismatch brake brands - using a different front brake brand to the rear if lever styles make this easier.
